The Geldarian Sergants and Elintorian Crimson Guards are pretty much the same. IMO the Northguards are the most versatile and can survive for longer compared to other top tier non-noble infantry.īest archers: Geldarian/Elintorian top tier archers (archers that you can't get in bulk), Maccavian Crossbowmen (archers that you CAN get in bulk). The Northguards does not have the best stats compared to the Valhi Huskarls, nor do they have the morningstars (piercing weapons) the Tolranian Kingsmen have, but they are the most heavily armoured non-noble infantry you can get, and they have hurlbats which really fucks people up. Their lack of shields are not a problem, since they can kill pretty much anything that shoots at them. The Knights of Steel are technically crossbowmen, but with full plate armour, an Executor Axe and 400 proficiency in both crossbow + axe, they can out snipe the Elintorians and one hit the large majority of units with their axe. They are solid but not special, so if you’re trying to have all troops from one faction, they’re not a bad choice.īest infantry: Maccavian Knights of Steel (Noble) and Maccavian Northguards (Non-Noble). Keep in mind that while I didn’t mention the hakkon here, they have a very strong overall troop base that doesn’t have any weaknesses. I also don’t know enough about the new smaller factions to add them to this list, like the giants, bluewood, and aurulo. In terms of noble troops and mercenaries, I don’t know all that much but I’ve noticed the tolranian knights are a fairly solid cav unit. The maccavian crossbowmen can chew up enemies at a distance and hold their own in melee.
The elves have hands down the best bowmen in the game. Drachen cav is really tough, and Drahara cav is really fast and high damaging.īest non/noble archers: maccavia and elintor. I like to have heavily infantry armies so I’m basing this on the hardest troops for me to fight.
This is especially noticeable against the zann, since all their high tier normal infantry have spears, so kingsmen absolutely slaughter them.īest non/noble cavalry: probably the drachen or drahara troops. While many factions have strong foot soldiers, I’ve noticed these two shine especially in big clusterfuck battles because they have high armor, tough shields, and relatively short, high damage weapons.
